shock turrets
thinking of fitting a set of heavy duty turrets.
do you have to fit different retaining rings or have the standard ones got long enough threads on them to do the job ?

You can use the same retaining rings, but the bolts often break when you remove the turrets.

Best to buy new rings as well instead of having to do the job twice (like me Wink )

While you're at it consider replacing the shocks and springs at the same time.

could fit a set of disco 2 (i think, maybe 1) retaining rings. They come with a rubber donut which gives a better ride/handling and a dribble of a lift too.

I will add another vote to the Gwyn Lewis setup- cheaper and have the relocation cones built in Smile

Start WD-40ing and wire brush the turret securing bolts way in advance and you shouldn't have any problems with them Thumbs Up

I should also add..... Still buy a set of securing rings in advance- Nothing worse than them shearing and the truck off the road whilst you try to source a new set Smile always easy to sell on after or return to where you got them from Thumbs Up

WARNING time: Britpart Securing rings do not come with nuts, and they aren't metric Rolling Eyes So either buy better or take it to a hardware store and have the correct nuts before starting the job (From Experience)
