Saw this before on eBay,

Couldn't speak that money on a poverty spec 110. Not even electric windows FGS, makes you wonder where else costs have been cut. All bling, no attention to detail by the looks of it!

Better off buying a newish one and converting yourself, cheaper and more fun with better end result!

Btw anyone know the cost of the conversion? NENE I assume? Cheers, David

yes the cost is half the pice of the car for a conversion alone
as said above the car is of basic spec for peoples own mods electric windows arnt hard to fit and are something that may be done if it means it will sell also the hated seats is only a loom which at the time was to exspensive this is a car that will last forever alot of people forgetting the fact it has a galvanised chassis

if you do the sums to buy a utilty spec 11 plate car plus a engine conversion then also the fact its galved chassis would take you very close to 45k if not 50k

That's a bit harsh David.

I believe the concept is quite clever, puts a 3.2 conversion in a more 'affordable' bracket allowing the new owner to concentrate on the fun part of adding extras (if required) as and when their budget allows.

Lets be honest, there are few of us who would spend probably Ł10 / Ł15k on a new vehicle invalidating the warranty having the conversion done.

Knowing that this is being sold by Steves brother in law and that Steve has a 3.2 conversion in his own truck under his belt and seeing Mr Bells name on the spec sheet, I very much doubt this is a Nene offering ....

That's the first time I've heard of a galvanised chassis being referred to as 'bling' Rolling with laughter This must one be one of the least blinged but modded Defenders out there. Darren

That Defender really appeals to me, and if I was wealthy enough I'd snap it up! I don't like the paint job (the black and white is much too "in your face" for me) but the critics should perhaps bear in mind that there are still some of us who want our Defenders as simple as possible for maximum longevity.

If only it was Stornoway grey or something similar and lower key, it woudl be the perfect wolf-in-sheep's-clothing Defender.

I would have some reservations about the durability of the drivetrain, though.

Indeed! I like grey, you like orange! Shocked
