So, hit by a freak snowstorm today and well, let's just say that the anti lock brakes OEM tires with 25K km on ice and slow speed just don't cut it...Honestly officer, I tried to stop, I was braking for a long time...

Sorry to hear that.
I don't think much works on ice (apart from chains). In fact, you're at a disadvantage being heavier than most. The only thing you might be able to do next time would be to keep driving, drop the gears and use your 4wd to drive out of trouble (not much help if you're heading for a dead end). Hope the damage isn't too costly. Make sure you check that the chassis rails haven't been damaged. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
