Software update: multiple PM recipients/suggest

Hi all,

Apologies for the downtime tonight, was having some niggles with a software update which has given you all multiple PM recipients, and a drop-down suggestion list when you start to type a recipient name.

Will do more pictures etc for help in the morning but please feedback any issues here

Just logged on this AM. I have the orange banner telling me I have a new PM. But in the small box where it says you have X amount of PM's and how many unread it doesn't show the new PM. When I go to my inbox there is no new PM's to read. But I can't get rid of the orange banner telling me there is something there that isn't really there.

I had the orange banner saying I had 2 new messages, but they were infect just 2 unread messages, so it seems to be classing those as new, once read all was ok

Hi all,

This should be what happens:

If you have no unread or new PMs, the banner won't appear.
If you have a new PM, it will say "you have 1 unread message (1 new) in your private message inbox"
If you have a look in your PM list but don't read that PM, it's no longer classed as new, so you will now see "you have 1 unread message in your private message inbox"

The same applies to any combination of unread and new PMs - so, for example, you can get "you have 4 unread messages (2 new)" if you had 2 unread and now have two more new ones.

Those of you with the message "stuck" are you seeing "x unread (x new)" or just "x unread"?

just located the 12 messages I'd not read in the forum - shown in blue down the side if anyone does as me reads on a phone !

Just now I got the "unread PM" message, despite not receiving any new ones. I couldn't locate a new message, saved all the messages in my inbox.

Issue now fixed.

Martin, I too am getting the "1 unread message" message although I appear to have no unread messages.

Right, I've actually implemented a function so you can do this for yourselves

Scroll to the bottom of your PMs list and click this button:

This will, as it says, mark all PMs in your inbox as read.
