Well maybe not a mouse - but a very annoying squeak......
Sounds like its coming from directly behind the speedo. Everything that is reachable is fixed solid, and I can't find anything that stops the squeak if you push and hold, so I think I will have the remove the speedo cluster and see if I can find what it is. It seems better when its cold - but once the heaters warmed up it seems to get worse - I wonder if its one of the air duct pipes. Anyone got any tips on removal? - I was thinking of getting a Haynes manual anyway - that probably has the destructions... Cheers Jools ps- I've just had the heated windscreen replaced as 90% of the elements were not working - fantastic this morning!! I also had a Puma as a loan vehicle - It was nice in 6th gear, but apart from that it didn't feel quite "right" I fealt the Td5 had more character!! (I think the farmer who borrowed it before me must have had a dead sheep in it too - which didn't help much!) 2003 90 XS SW Support Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - www.buy.at/dc4x4 |

I also had a mouse for some weeks and after removing the dash twice (once whilst on the move) and then seperating the screen from the body it was still there..
Does yours dissapear for a while when you have washed it?? I tracked it down.. no idea how.. to the bonnet hinge!!! drivers side, but sounded like it was squeeking behind dash. a couple of squirts every few weeks of WD problem solved.. it just metal on metal squeak!.. Thank god as i would have sold it! |

Great idea - I'll try that first - Yes it definitely sounds like a metal/metal type of squeek As I havn't washed it yet I don't know if that solves it! 2003 90 XS SW Support Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - www.buy.at/dc4x4 |

nickh90 - I could kiss you!!
Spot on! It was the bonnet hindge! Liberal application of 3-in-1 and now the mouse has gone for good. That will save me having to dismantle the dash this weekend Jools 2003 90 XS SW Support Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - www.buy.at/dc4x4 |
