If it's <7yo then land rover should sort it under corrosion guarantee, but guessing it isn't <7yo from the presence of flaps? Cheers, David

My mistake. They can be removed, and halfords will mix the paint up for you. Sand, prime and paint. Best replace the seal and get some waxoyl or equivalent in there too Cheers, David

Could even get them powder coated in a contrast or body colour if you're getting some other bits done (makes it cheaper) Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

LOL
Yes its a 2006, I must admit it was only serviced two weeks ago by Stratstones Aylesbury. This time they did not fill out the corrosion inspection part of the service book, and I had to wander back in just to get them to stamp the main service panel! In general its in very good nick. How easy is it to remove the hinge bracket? I obviously need to either get in and vigorously attack the corrosion there or replace it. Some food for thought there K9F
I despise powder coating with a passion as I feel its next to useless when used on a motor vehicle, Just look at the poxy Land Rover roofrack already on it. I do like the black anodised ones SGH shows in the other thread. I think the main issue is that they are aluminium attached to steel with a Brummie paint job ![]() Oh well, another thing on the list of LR jobs. Easy to remove on a Puma. Bolts can be seen and readily accessed on the inside. No more that 5-10 minutes to whip 'em off. I personally went for the Croytec annodised and they have stood up excellently to the test of time.

Afternoon Toad,
I think we got a new pair when we rebuilt my 90 and got all the bodywork resprayed off the vehicle. The paint on the windscreen bracket things lasted less than a year before it started bubbling! Can't blame that on Land Rover, as it wasn't done by them. However, have now despatched a new pair (and some new door hinges) to Matthew to repaint. Hopefully should last a lot longer this time!
