Alloy wheel security key
Just a heads up from a recent experience.......I recently changed tyres on my 90 and the fitter showed me the key which was a tad knackered and some damage to the wheel nuts as well. I can only assume it was done at the dealers, the tyre fitter says he's seen it before especially on Defenders and D2's as a result of air guns. He always uses a long bar and a torque wrench.

I have bought a new key as the bars in the original were worn and bent.

Thought it worth a mention just in case any of your keys were damaged and you don't know. Last thing any of us need is a puncture somewhere awkward and a broken key! BM52

I had one fail - right when I needed it ( Sad ) on my Disco 2.

So when the Defender was new, I bought a 2nd one. Now I have a back-up taped inside the battery box, and the original in my spares box in the back Thumbs Up Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

If you take your new key and reinforce it with a girdle before it breaks, it will last longer! They have been known to break when used correctly.

Speak to Dan at Duckworths, you don't have to be 'in the trade' to buy one Thumbs Up
