snowdon
guys (and gals)

was thinking of taking the family up snowdon during the summer hols (to do a night walk Wink ).

can anyone suggest 'secure parking' for the night? I typically walk up from the youth hostel on the A4086. there's parking there opposite the youth hostel and I presume its ok?

thanks.

Yep the Pen-y-pass car park is fairly safe (as safe as anywhere really, and has the advantage of being away from towns etc...) IIRC its about £10/day to park there though Thumbs Up

Or there's an open carpark at the base of the Ranger Path which i've left the TR at before (but can't remember the prices off hand im afraid).

I was in the Pen-Y-Pas car park a couple of weeks ago. Left the car park about 7pm, and back 3 hours later (used the Pyg Track), don't recall any parking charges (maybe they don't charge out-of-normal-hours)...

With all the comings-and-goings of 3-peakers, I'm sure it'll be fine - there's always someone there Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I use Pen Y Pas regularly. Never any problems overnight and the rangers keep it safe during the day. www.td5.org
