Help with Td4 110
Hello. Was to ask for your advice. I have Defender 110 Td4 2.4. Tyres 35/12.5R15. -32 Offset. This EGR rescheduled and canceled. High +3 ".
What strikes me is that to become a little glutton with diesel. It also conveys the feelings driving me is not good when I travel with. On the mount is fine, but on long trips it is as if something was missing.
The question is for the wise or that you have big wheels in TD4.
There to play with the Transfer Boxes? add a shorter or longer? which can be put?
Thanks in advance and I hope I expressed myself well. http://www.clublandrovertt.org/index.php?a...ype=avatar

With 35" tyres, the standard (1.2:1) t/box will be too high a gear really for comfortable driving, which could be why the fuel economy has gone up.

On my old (300Tdi) 90, i had 35" tyres, and i fitted some GBR (Great Basin Rovers, in the US) 4.1:1 crownwheel & pinions in the differentials.
This made the gearing almost factory feeling again, and much easier to drive.

Luismi, on here, has got some 4.7's I think for his 110.

If you change the transferbox to a 1.4:1, this would help, but low range would still be slightly over geared (although being in "low" you'll have a lower gearset anyway, so maybe not too bad)

Forgive this theme because I'm not. Very Happy Very Happy

Let's see if I understood well.
Serial mounted 1.2:1
I recommend changing to 1.4:1
Is that correct??? http://www.clublandrovertt.org/index.php?a...ype=avatar

Holy moly what's going on here

Morea at the end I put transfer 1:1 and 4,75 in a td5 with 33" so I ended 0.88 longer than a standard in High ratio, so not a big deal here, as we can say that its nearly the same.

But in low ratio its where it rocks as mi first gear low ratio its much shorter that the first gear of a puma even with the 5.443:1 of the first gear of the MT82.

In your case if your intention its to go back to the original ratio with your 35" I believe you have two options

A- as the Diesel Jim already mention install the 1.4 transfer and then you will be just 3.03 % shorter than standard so pretty close.
B- install the 4,12:1 that you may be 2.99% shorter than standard, I believe KAM still doing the 4.11, in that case will be just 2.75% shorter.

if you go for the 3.8 you may be 5,18% longer than standard

HTH

let me know otherwise
