Soft Bull Bar ! Fitting of !
I have set about fitting my soft A bar and Censored it up !

due to my none engineering prowess i have managed to x thread the insert that fixes to the bracket that accepts the threadded bolt attaching it to the bumper !

First question.
Does any one have a spare ? that they are willing to part with !

Second !
do i file of the two crap spot welds holding said threaded nut type thing onto bracket and replace with two nuts ? one front and one back ?
dependant on getting a nut big enough to blank the ample hole that the old one will leave !

Third !
Can any one Weld ! who is willing to assist a none welding owner ?

Fourth !
Fact not really a question ! do i buy another fitting kit from Land Rover ?
Not a good option and also it appears very costly having had one and Censored it up, the metal is crap tho and i reckon welded properly the bolt option could be a winner obviously depending on getting the threads lined up in the first place !

IIRC I doubt you will be able to hold a nut behind. Your easiest option would be to rethread the existing fitting but you will need to find someone with a suitable tap set.

You could try cutting a couple of lengthwise slots in a bolt of the same size and attempting to get it started - winding it in will act a bit like a tap and might clear the original thread enough to make it usable. Bit of a bodge but it sometimes works if you don't have a tap.

Cutting off a welding on a suitable nut is easy if you have the gear (I do) - any basic workshop or engineering place should do it for the price of a pint.
