Wiring in aux USB socket
Can anyone help with a basic wiring setup to install an aux USB socket, what mobilecentre sell.

Presume the feed will be taken from the cigarette socket and will either be installed in the glove box or the centre cubby box.

You can feed it in a number of ways, either ignition dependant or constantly live (careful of battery drain)'where you site it it depends on what you want them to charge I suppose, I have one on the dash upright on the right of the passenger side parcel shelf and one one the upright on the drivers side on the tiny shelf to the left of the steering column.

I don't use the cigarette lighter anymore so I actually just took the whole assembly out and replaced it with the dual USb outlet. If you unclip the pins from the lighter plug and cover them with insulating tape ro heat shrink they are a perfect fit for the pins on the back of the USb outlet.

Keeps the neat appearance of the dash intact... The USb outlet is a perfect fit for the hole...

I've fitted a pair of dual USBs in a mudpod on the dash and wired them back to a dedicated feed in the battery box. I've used a feed from the 12v socket to run relays to make sure the USBs are only active when the key is in the ignition. 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX
