Shorter for more boost. Stage 2 is generally 9/10 threads showing, less will give you more boost but your engine will go bang You have been warned. Be best to check with who fitted your stage 2 though as it should compliment your fueling

And unless you've got a boost box (or the ECU has been modified inside, or maybe a special tuning file) then as soon as you raise the boost, it'll go into limp home mode.
With the instructions you get with most boostboxes, the optimimum pressure seems to be around the 18~19psi area. The only accurate way to measure it is to get a pressure guage. Yes, you can shorten the rod, but you don't know where you're starting from. |

Engine oil cooler? it's already got one, bolted to the side of the block, under the oil filter housing.

Too much boost causes the head to float (even though the latter TD5 engines have dowls). Quality oil, genuine filters and changes 6000 should see you right.

It'll hurt your ears plenty !!!! and why ? For off road use ok but on road ??? I'm sure the police will appreciate it and stop you regularly, and I doubt it will be to admire and compliment you
On a TD5 it should make no difference, Back pressure as I understand affects the puma's as they have more electronics due to controlling emissions. Regards your oil cooler- Yes you will be able to get an upgraded cooler as you have seen, but a competition vehicle will be driven and set up very different to a daily. |
