Return of the 90
Hi Mike
I picked up the defender from LM on Friday as you know with my PM to you earlier in the month I was having trouble with My defender every time it rained, rain water was getting in from under the dash soaking the footwell. It was dispatched of to Land Rover factory so I,m now hoping the problems are of the past and that I and LM can move forward. Fingers crossed.
I would like to say a big thank you to Land Rover because as a goodwill they fixed the Air Con which had been hit with a stone so again a big thanks as I know the cost would have been in the region of £700.00.

I would also like to thank Steve Wellington of Lancaster Motors, if it was not for his patience and customer services skills I would have dumped the defender on there door step after the fourth or fifth time of it going back. Steve Thumbs Up

James Cook the service manger as also offered goodwill package to do the next service free on behalf of LM. I 'm waiting for confirmation. Lets bloody hope rain on the outside over the next twelve months James as I wouldn't want to see you Big Cry

Ian

Did they tell you where the water was coming from?
Cheers, Pickles.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for the update.

It's really nice to hear the positive comments even after the disappointing situation you are in. Fingers crossed that it is now all sorted!

I am glad to hear such good service provided by Lancaster Motors and I will be sure to pass this information on.

If there's anything I can help with in the future do not hesitate to let me know.

Many Thanks

Mike

Guessing that it was coming from the leaking LAND ROVER, apparently it's a common fault on this MY.

Wagner

I'm just hoping the problems are in the past.
What I have noticed is under the bonnet there is a rubber seal along the back and the doors are popping open and I have to shut both doors harder than normal which I'm sure they will correct them selfs in time.

They have promised a fully paid service as I have had the 1st services already I have a full year to make sure the problem as gone for good, just looking forward to enjoying the bloody thing, that's why I have booked the off road experience at Billings but I hear the travellers like to nick everything of people vehicles so will contact the organisers and find out if they are aware off the problems and try and find out what they are doing about it

So, if I've read this thread, & several connected others, correctly, whilst water on the floor is a long way from the windscreen, it appears that the majority of these leaking issues are caused by a leaking windscreen....Is my assumption correct?
Cheers, Pickles.
