Everyone will recommend different one's so your own choice it comes down to really. It's difficult to get a good power output from a 10cm standard size speaker but I'd recommend you look for high power out put for a good starting point. Pinoneer's are pretty powerful. But I am biased and like my Kenwoods.
Chris at CSK LR's does some JL audio equipment too. Perhaps worth a look. He's a site sponsor. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

Not really though about budget yet, wanted to see what others are using first.
Used to have some Sony X-plod's in my old defender. They were powerful enough but sound quality wasn't great. Also, what are you using to mount them. The available space on the LHS due to the wiper motor is going to limit what will fit unless I can fit a mount of some description. |

Sorry you cannot compare Vibe to Focal There must be something wrong somewhere.
I have 5" shallow polyglass focals in the front, fit without spacers in a TD5 with minimal cutting. You will get a better sound from 5" to 4" as its all about movement of air |

On the contrary I have the K2's and love them!
In my early 20's I have gone through the boy racer pages to manhood with many speaker systems, often matching the price I paid for the cars and I think the K2's are the best I have had.....have I just had a lot of pony set ups? =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Probably Steve
There is a lot of bull and marketing around the audio world. People don't really understand it and either buy it because its expensive, (and therefore must be good) or cheap (it makes the same noise). You did the right thing when you brought your set up, you tried before you buy and listened to the advice you were given. People start of with one component of a system, and add as they go along. Often they don't compliment previous bits and highlight flaws in the system. Sound deadening, (especially in a landrover) can be the best upgrade and cheaper than hardware !!! The most important thing to remember though is everyone's ear is different. people like different sound and one mans wine is anothers poison |

Your quite right Jim, forgot I did that What audio thread.
I like my Focal's and so do many people I have seen with them. Like you say each person hears different. I have had some shocking halfords specials! In my time haha. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |
