On holiday in France/Spain (no dealers here) and the RHS middle row (110) door lock motor has stopped remote locking.
Found this out today (Sunday) outside a church in a busy French town, when my daughter opened the door and I was about 100yds away - impressive how alarm sound amplifies in places of historical interest Any known faults that can easily be fixed? Are the motors fused separately etc? Many thanks for any ideas Cheers Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Doh - of course
Just checked and the orange wire has snapped - I never noticed before how the wires get crimped every time the door closes (I never sit in the back) I'll be finding a way to improve that "design" when we get home. ...which is why it needs improving
p.s. why don't LR ever improve these "common" weak points themselves? Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I wonder how, when every other modern car, has electrics going into the doors (be it for windows, CDL, mirrors etc) that LR's always seem to break?
Probably due to the cable being "just" big enough to do the job, and no more. Maybe just thicker cable will do the job? or that coily stuff like on telephone handsets (you can get it in 2 and 3 core thick-ish stuff) |
