Another vote for xcl's i love mine especially for sledging in the snow. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I visited the Royal Logistic Corps open day today and whilst looking at a WIMK Land Rover I noticed that its' Blindo wheels were shod with SST's. It looked very chunky? Darren

Both are IMO the best in their class. I have STT's on my Disco and KM2's on the Def. The STT's appear better off road, but have a tendency to make the vehicle 'wander' on road. The KM2's feel better on road and are known for very high mileage. From my observations, the tread is chunkier on the STT's with a more vertical wall to the tread and also less area of rubber per sq. inch which probably accounts for the wandering. I don't do the mileage in the Disco to work out what the wear is like, but I have found two of the five tyres with splits around where the band of tread joins the tyre. They're only 10mths old and have done no more than 2000miles which is not a good sign! I would have loved to have said the STT's are better as their grip off road and on grass is exceptional, but quality is |

Maybe just a one-off bad tyre. If Cooper made them in 255/85 I would have gone for those instead of STs. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy.
