Hi,
I want to remove one seat from the back of my 90 and use the space to arrange my things in drawers/boxes. The other seat has to stay for occasional passengers. Any hints or links to this kind of arrangements? Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

There's a company called Sense of Adventure that makes a drawer that's designed for a seat to fold down onto. Darren

I would be interested in such a storage facility as well. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

I have had one of the rear seats out for about 1.5 years now and havent looked back. I use those plastic modular (ammo?) boxes that fit perfectly and i have made some storage areas for the raised wheel arch bit.
I can store all my off road equipment and there is enough space for junk. I am not sure how much longer the other seat will remain though. It is rarely used and its amazing how much space they take up. |

I've removed both back seats from my 90 as I need storage more than the ability to carry passengers. It's surprising how much space you gain. I have made a plywood tray that bridges the wheel arches giving out of sight storage underneath. I have a few ex army steel storage boxes that fit underneath for storing towing stuff I'll post a few snaps tomorrow in daylight. Johnny.

I have removed one seat and regularly hook in a shelf for the dog cage and/or remove it for other things. I'll see if I can get a couple of pics tomorrow. Had to measure everything carefully so if necessary I can still get the dog cage and a passenger in.
The important thing I found was to make sure nothing bolted in, it justs locates and a couple of bolts are dropped in to hold it in place but no nuts fitted. This way I can take stuff in and out as required. Cheers, John. 2.2 90 XS 88" Series One Old Norton ![]() Minerva |
