England 1989 Defender 90 V8 Petrol SW Auto Java Black
First ever showing!!! work in progress my Ls1 powered 90

Originally a brown 1989 SW - apparently Overfinch 4.4 supercharged!
NOW......
Brand new Ls1 - 5.7 V8 Petrol - 350bhp crate engine
Married to a new upgraded TH400 auto box - B&M shifter
Snorkel and breathers all round
GKN shafts all round
New Quaife ATB LT2300T centre diff
Front and Rear ARB air lockers
Scorpion Extreme Suspension system
Front & Rear wide angle props
Adjustable Panhard rod
Polybush'd
110 disc brakes all round
5 x 8.5-16 Compomotive Wheels (powder coated in Anthracite)
General Grabber 315 75 16 tyres - 35"
Rock Sliders, Steering guards, diff guards, new tank and guard
Tubular Winch bumper and WARN 9500
A Bar and PIAA lamps
Rear NAS step
Exmoor Modular front seats and 2 rear inward facing
Built in Bulkhead Gun safe/locking storage
Obviously a full re spray and kleen tech protection (originally done back in 99)
RDX heavy duty bonnet
RDX Front Grill
RDX LED lights all round plus later smoked repeaters
Mud Stuff rear door panel, gas strut and speaker surrounds
Crystal headlights
Rear LED spot lamp
Remote Wireless control spotlight
Tinted Windows and new rubbers
CB radio
Dynamat all inside
Flocked side and rear panels in Grey
New brushed cotton grey roof relined
LED interior lamp
LR rear load mat

Just waiting on Td5 dash to come available then swap that out with some more flocking and a new 4 speaker and a sub hifi, relocate some switches to the dash and probably add an SVX style front hoop in Anthracite.

I cannot take the credit for a lot of the mechanical work - this was done by a previous owner who used an engineering firm. It had done no more than 2500 miles when I got it... The box of receipts is scary!

It's my 3rd defender now and I know its not to everyone's taste, but I love it and love driving it.. especially off the lights, surprises most Smile

G'Day from Aus....the land of V8s!....I've owned plenty.
Plenty of V8s down here, but not many in Defenders. With a 5.7L LS1 you will not be short of grunt, & the Turbo 400 G.B. will be almost indestructable....they are built like a tank.
What sort of exhaust are you running...twin pipes....it will sound awesome....and yes.....it would surprise a few.
Any pics of engine bay, cabin etc?
Cheers, Pickles.
