300tdi re map
Of the many "re map" threads on the forum, I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything regarding the 300tdi engine. Is this because this derivative pre dates mapable ECU's or is there indeed a useful mod to be had?

Unfortunately, there isn't an ECU to remap Very Happy
You can go with a bigger intercooler and uprated pump to get up to around 140bhp

First make sure your engine is in tip top condition. Oil, all the filters and check timing is right.

Then remove egr valve if it has one. Put a de cat pipe on if needed.

Buy a better intercooler then your new intercooler will come with instructions on how to tweak the fuelling.

It does make a fair bit of difference but if your engine isn't right in the first place spend your money on making it run well. Sometimes it's a poorly running engine that makes you think you need to boost the power. The 300tdi needs servicing every 6000 miles.

OK, thought as much but good to get confirmation.

I'm actually very happy with the engine at the moment, already has EGR blanking plate and decat pipe. It's been regularly serviced but I'll check the air filtre just in case.

It had a splash of 2SO in the tank at the weekend, so it'll be interesting to see if there's any difference in smoothness tonight when I use her.
Thanks

Sorry teaching you to suck lemons there.

Mate of mine is always messing with his 300 but seems not to bother with the maintenance sheet. Just fix when broke.

He has a better intercooler but has to back the fuel right off to get through mot.

Thanks James, an excellent read. I'll have to go through that a few times to fully understand it but well worth the effort I'm sure!
