Chequer plate roof rack
If anyone buys a Brownchurch heavy duty roof rack and is thinking of adding a floor to it - you may wish to let them know in advance. They can manufacture in higher side bars to create a level surface for your boarding. If you don't (like me) you will realise the floor bars are 9mm higher than the side bars and you have a bit of thinking to do. I thought about adding side bar sections, or spacers, but in the end decided to bend up the ends of the chequer plate and screw into the vertical side bars as well as the floor bars. Seems to be solid so far. This is what it looks like:

Mine came with it allready sheeted from the previous owners but all the way up the sides. It can be a pain tying anything down that is lower than the sides even with 6 lashing rings fitted, they're never in the right place1

Mine is floored with mesh and never noticed this. Much easier to tie stuff down.

ngseksan,

the roof rack does not interfere with the rear canopy in any way, or require any modifications. Therefore it does not provide any new opportunity for water to enter. If anything, it provides extra weather protection as it acts as a solid 'roof'.
The canvas and hoops can be removed and replaced with the roof rack remaining in place.
