How much is convertible Renault Megane worth ?
In part exchange for my Father in laws camper van, he's been offered a Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet (retractable hardtop), 2008, 1.9 TDi, metallic silver, full leather interior, climate control, heated seats, two owners total, 35,000 miles tax & test - What is it worth ? - Anyone interested ?

Put the reg into we buy any car and add a small amount on top.

Trading cars can be a mine field as using advertised prices as an idea of trade prices isn't always accurate. I would think a magane convertible isn't an easy car to shift on after and one that will depreciate heavily.

As an example, a few months ago I tried to sell our 1 owner 2010 60plate Volvo C70, every possible extra ticked and less than 6000 miles. All paperwork including the original invoice, over £37k and I struggled to get a bid over £11k.

It's a tough business and my advice is use a trade figure that the dealers would use, of course that depends on how realistic the campervan being sold is too.

Thanks Alex,

We all know 'We buy any car' is a total rip off so that doesn't really help me.

I've looked on the What Car pricing thing and it say £5750 trade but I wondered if anyone had any 'real world' knowledge ?

If you PM gazellio, member on ffrr and disco forum, he's a dealer and helpful with members who want trade prices, hopefully he will help and give a true, current trade price.

WBAC can feel like they're kicking you in the nuts but if the demand for a car is there then they offer reasonable prices. Other option is to email a few traders who have a few advertised to see if they want any other stock.

But that isn't what a dealer will offer.

To use my example of the C70 I was selling. Dealers had cars advertised at £19k+ for similar cars yet I was struggling to get a bid above £11k.

If its a car in demand then you will get good money but a megane convertible isn't going to be something that will be easy to offload to a dealer quickly.

Thanks for the replies Thumbs Up

I won't sell it to the trade, I'll retail it.

It'll owe me £5500 and that's all I need for it
