I fitted my focal sub (the same as Simon's) under my puma middle row seats, if your car pc is about that size you will be fine. Remember pcs need ventilation. I have a tough book that mounts on the passenger grab rail.

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Santorini Black

Size-wise it would be fine, but I think the wiring will be really messy. There'd be power, USB for keyboard/mouse (this is BT, but from experience needs an extension), USB for touch screen, video out, audio out, 3G aerial and dongle, wifi dongle, GPS, etc. There's no way to make that lot neat and disturbance-free (especially with 4 kids climbing all over the car). We've just raised the floor on a standard cubby (see pics in my section) for the client to place an amplifier underneath (happy to quote to do the same on yours)

Alternatively is there not enough space in one or other under seat lockers or perhaps the void behind the dash on either side of the centre controls ?

Can't find that pic of the raised floor cubby. I've been eyeing up the twin-din console anyway, not sure if it'd be possible to merge the two?

I've got a second battery going in the battery box, and want to put a few other bits under the drivers seat. I'm not familiar with the void behind the dash, guess I'll have to take a look.

Obviously not masses of room but there is some. Maybe of use even if perhaps you have to sink it a little so the cubby isn't raised too high....

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green

I had a Mac Mini in the cubby box in my Discovery with a roof mounted touch screen. Ran Mac OSX and Windows in a VM as required. Worked really well for what I needed it for. The Mac Mini is very small, low power and Carnetix do a power supply that came with a Mac Mini (old style) power connector - wiring up was simple.

A Mac Mini, even the new style, should easy mount vertically in the Defender cubby box, and if you prefer Windows, just boot camp it and away you go 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

Buy a toughbook, can mount it anywhere, copes with starting the car by reverting to battery while the car fires up. Will take the knocks and damp

and copes with freezing temperatures, plus easily removed. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

An in-carPC is jumper configurable - mine switches to hibernate when ignition goes off, restarts automatically with ignition on. Restarting from hibernate takes about as long as putting on seatbelt and putting stereo fascia on.

It doesn't drop out as the engine is started either. My Disco 'best bits'
