Any good recommendations for insuring a new Utility Wagon?
APlan and VanCompare don't even have it listed on their systems to quote for it!! |

NFU Mutual are always good for a quote!
And they're usually fine about modifications too! |

Question for any Utility Wagon owners....
Is your insurance specifically for a Utility Wagon, or just a Defender 5 door? None of the places I've tried can find it specifically on their systems... None close as a van, generic Defender 110 XS 5 Door listed as a car... |

Wasn't a problem for me - most of the insurers knew my vehicle's identity from the registration number...
I'm with Liverpool Victoria at the moment I think...around £300. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Don't know what the registration will be yet, so can't go that route... Just seems strange that its not listed as a van or a car!

We had no problem with the N.F.U. just told them what the vehicle was " Land rover Defender 110 USW" and they knew what it was and had it listed on there system. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Of the companies I've spoken to (including the NFU) only the 2.4 USW is listed - not the 2.2.
I've googled loads of images of USWs and tried their number plates - only one has been listed as a USW (a 2.4) all the other ones are either Pick-Up or Double Cab Pick-Up... |

I am with Adrian Flux but don't trust any of the online websites, call them first. You will get a much lower figure when you do. 1970 Series 2A 88"

Thanks... I put that one into the on-line quote thing at GoCompare and it's listed as: "Land Rover Defender 110 Pickup, 2011 onwards, 2198cc, Van, Diesel, 3.05 Tons, 1208Kg Payload" Do you know/remember if it mentioned Utility Wagon specifically on the V5? I'm starting to think it doesn't matter - but in the back of my mind I think that if there was ever a claim, the insurance company would work the difference in vehicle to their advantage! (Too cynical??!!) |
