personally i don't rate the MTR. on road they are noisy and dont seem to last long as all compared to other leading brands. BFG.

ask them to BFGs on it from new. Cheers

I'm surprised, how many miles did you get on yours?

I find my 110 on mtr's quieter than our farm 90 on mud terrains

No, td5 110 and puma 90. Both abused on and off road!!

The 110 has now done approx 25k on 3 mtr's, the other I ripped the side wall on (which I do think is week than a BFG)

Surprised you didn't get more miles though Sad

some of the MTRs on the D3 and D4s dont last long at all. Defenders tend to be better.

MTs on my tgv is quieter than MTRs for tyre noise anyway. Cheers

Dunno about that, the ones on our 12-plate 130 at work are falling apart after 5,000 or so miles. It's as if the outer of all the tread blocks is falling off. Most strange.
mine are doing the same they done about 20k will never buy again

the MTRs were too noisy for my liking. I, personally (*), am quite fond of the Toyo O/C MT which are better in that respect and behave better on snow and wet roads. IMHO.

I really didn't like the noise of the MTR's that I had on a set of Sawtooth alloys that I ran on my 110 for 1500 miles or so, much prefer BFG MUDs or Cooper STT's

Have MTRs on HD rims and so far I like them. Haven't done that many miles to judge tyre wear so that will be a significant issue if it's turns out to be on the high side.

Can't say they are noisey at all, and I've wound it up to motorway speeds for a few prolonged runs across the M62 and up the M6. Maybe the noise is just complimentary to the other noises of the Defender!

It's all down to personal choice but I think they look so much better than alloys, should wear much better and aren't that hard to keep clean - there's not many holes or gaps for front brake dust to get through.

One thing I will say about them though - they are bloody heavy. Not weighed the spare yet but would be interesting to know the difference between one and an alloy shod MTR.

Just fitted some MTRs at the weekend to replace part-worn TRs (26,000 miles).

Slightly noisier, but not as much as expected compared to the 2013 USW I drove with them. Shows how much sound deadening there is in a 2010 SW compared to the newer USW.

Unexpectedly, the ride is MUCH better with MTRs. No longer pogoing down the road, it feels like the springs and shocks are working together instead if fighting any harmonic bounce from the tyres. Grip is better too. Not quite up with the KM2s for on road trip, but the ride is brilliant. On the whole, very happy so far.

When I changed from GG's to KM2's I found them better in just about every way. Yes, on road the GG's were fairly worn (Not that bad though!) and they were jumpy as anything pull up quick in a lane for oncoming traffic and you'd soon find they'd be scrubbing and losing grip. Pretty much all the time the anchors had to be put on a little quick. Never had that at all with the KM2's! GG's you can expect to get stuck in a wet field with the KM2's just seems to go over anything and a lot more puncture proof too!
Over all my KM2's coupled with my EBC Greenstuff pads now I'm very very pleased indeed.
Very Happy ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
