have fitted spacer behind tow ball 60mm or LONG EXTENDED NECK CAR AL-CO AKS ALKO TOW BALL TOWBALL COUPLING thing to watch LONG EXTENDED NECK tow ball is the load rating fond is place then looking for spacer for my van

I have the rear NAS type rear bumper. Attached to that is a Dixon Bate adjustable height bracket, and then tow bar.
Tows fine (General trailers upto about 2 tonnes) and bonus is the bike rack fits perfectly, just clearing the spare wheel.  Click image to enlarge |

Just to add my experience!
Nas now fitted plus standard tow ball, altera bike carrier just fits on with upright tight on spare tyre, but when slid out does not click into place/lock so need to extend further. Tried Alko extended tow bar, despite being assured this extends outward it doesn't, only height. Just ordered the 1 1/2" alloy extension to give the clearance! Cheers Barrie |

What are the measurements and weight loading? Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to  us off.

The one I'm currently using extends to 1700mm and can take nose weight of 100KGs If using it to tow the manufacturer says max 2500KG towing load The one I have for sale has same nose weight, but is just shorter 5 7/8" (so just under 6 inches) I installed a swing away spare wheel carrier so needed to extend out even more so moved to the other one. I have used it with 4 adult bikes on long motorway journeys with no problem. Don't know the towing weight of the smaller one. (I don't tow). Interesting to know. I think others have posted that the rear step bumper is not best suited to towing as it leaves the towball too high for many standard trailers. Are you just using a standard D&B mount with it set on lowest setting or have you had to modify further? |
