United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Thought the rear chassis cross member was fading a bit so removed my rear step bumper to check and was surprised just what the difference was in 6 months from new:

Just what do they use to paint it with - it looks like it's not UV stable?

Thought i might as well have a look at the front bumper and was shocked to see the extent of rust around all of the mounting pates together with the lower inner edges:

I found this sticker on the front bumper, so assume this is the company that makes them for LR - I also assume they won the contract on price alone!

Decided to try the POR-15 Chassis Painting Kit so both front and rear will be getting an undercoat of POR15 Black Rust Preventative Paint before an overcoat of Chassis Coat Black.

Whilst on the subject of little quality issues - stabbed my hand on this piece of wire when taking the front grill off:

^^Covering items in whatever brand floats your boat will not cure poor bonding between the metal manufacturers finish Rolling Eyes

The coating flakes off the front bumper in just the same manner as it will off the mudflap brackets, side and rear steps so expect warranty replacements at some point in the future or DIY refinishing. Same goes for the paint on the aircon grille and other sundry items. Steve.
