What were your thoughts on having the DPF removed ? For me I'm thinking it's a must do . My 12 110 is going down in September and I can't wait .

Thank you for the great feedback, glad you are happy with the power gains and smooth torque delivery. Also nice to put another 2.2 on the Dyno Smile

Better mpg
Driving from home to York, 195 miles, 23.8 mpg, brimmed tank to brimmed tank. Return journey, averaging about 10 mph faster than the outbound journey, brimmed tank to brimmed tank was just on 7 gallons for 195 miles which is about 28 mpg. Cruising at 80, the engine is smooth and quiet, acceleration in 6th gear is brilliant, 5th is good for 40-70 in about ten seconds!
The engine feels more refined in all gears, smoooooth. Thumbs Up

Hi

I appreciate that the landrover rev hang is not as everyone wants and we don't address it directly with a current remap. Though are looking into making it a little more refined than Landrover have left it at some point as it seems to be what people want.

If taken away totally the car could then feel laggy between gears and also cause other problems that are far worse than the original problem of rev hang, in some cases as with the older software versions before this was added by Landrover calibration it was quite the opersite and made it hang "low" badly before it would allow engine rev up after a gear change was made!

The later version landrover made can actually be driven round if a sharper gear changes are made and not so much clutch dip time is taken.

I post a link to another thread where I posted with some Landrover info in that explains a little more why its there in the 2.2 though as said I agree its not every ones cup of tea.

Regards Pete.

Thanks Pete,

The other thread is obviously a little scant on detail and the non-forum member has spoken to you on the phone, he is of 'senior years' and really struggles with the rev hang having a driving style that has beed derived over 60 years of driving. Having explained to him the characteristics of your switchable map he is more receptive to the idea of embodying it prior to warranty expiry but needs to check with his son first.
Ridding the vehicle of the rev hang takes a higher priority for him than the brilliant performance gains I think. I drove his truck and the lack of engine braking and rev hang in comparison to mine is very noticable. I think I could possibly get used to it but as stated he is struggling.

Thanks for the info...... Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I agree landrover kept the info very short and sweat which is not very helpful really. ill keep working on the "hang" changes needed to make it a little more customer friendly for those who want it as well as those like you quite rightly point out dont need power but also dont want the landrover hang problem.

Ill make a few more adjustments and drive tests today and keep you posted.

Pete

I have started a new thread here with a small video of what I think is the problem that people dont like in the landrover factory tuning.

I assume this is the same problem your non forum member reports ??

I post it as a seperate thread as i do not want this tuning thread getting mixed up with a Landrover calibration problem/design Thumbs Up
