I'm worried a wee bit about the clunky gearbox syndrome that I have at the moment. A brilliant gentleman flagged me down in the car park the other day in his glorious white hard top and the first thing he said (which had been running through my mind for a few weeks) was...."that must have the 2.2 in it yes? Does your gearbox make a massive racket when changing gears?! Mine does and customer services say its to do with the character of the vehicle but it is being looked into". I replied yes mine is rather noisy and he shouted "hurrah point proven!", wished me well and drove off......might start a new thread to see what others think as my 2.4 wasn't noisy and it wasn't sold to me with a noisy gearbox.....will it break?! ===================================

This sounds like Mont St Michelle to me, great place that is supposedly France's most visited tourist attraction. I would also recommend a visit to Honfleur for 2 reasons, firstly to drive over the amazing bridge as you approach the town called the Pont de Normandie and secondly for the fantastic seafood restaurants that you find around the harbour. Worth also visiting some of the beaches, very moving experience for me |

Hi Andy.
The place we stayed in is below. Booked on the campsite website (link on page 1 of this thread). Really nice place with a swimming pool and Mont St Michel is about a 3-4km walk which is great. We had the luxury pitch which comes with its own shower, toilet and his and hers sink......also an outside sink to wash up cooking utensils. There is also a heated swimming pool, bar and tennis courts etc Camping Haliotis*** - Kawan Village Mont Saint Michel Chemin des Soupirs (Accès Boulevard Patton) 50170 Pontorson Tel : +33 (0)233681159 Fax : +33 (0)233589536 camping.haliotis@wanadoo.fr www.camping-haliotis-mont-saint-michel.com =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Thanks for the info. Looks great
Where else did you go? We think we have given up on the UK/Scotland, so are looking into pet passport, and thinking of "doing" north France. Normally this is an area that we just fly through, on our way south, towards the sun, but feel nearer is better for a puppies first holiday. Andy |

There is a very basic campsite on the outskirts, in the dunes, where the owner speaks no English, but understands a defender can get to where others can't.
Andy, can you let me know the details of this campsite? Planning a trip to France next year and this looks ideal. |
