Hi all
Just picked up the new landy from LR N1 City and drove back to Stellenbosch. What a pleasure to drive - miles apart from the Td5, SWAMBO & I could actually have a normal conversation while doing 110kmh on the highway! Some pics: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Not to mention that our salesperson is probably the prettiest LR salesperson you will ever meet Have a good weekend! Jah. We weren't so sure about the Alpine white, but that's the dealers are only getting them in this colour, big shortage of Defenders in SA at the moment. But it looks good, and drive like a dream. For now, and touch wood for the rest of its life! Already fitted: Auxiliary Fuel tank (45L) Frontrunner bullbar Frontrunner Sump Guard In 2 weeks' time, when I get back from Barcelona: Full Madman EMS2 monitoring system Mantec snorkel and in March: a drawer system, April: a dual battery system, May: roofrack & rooftop tent, all in preparation for our overlanding trip to Namibia in June. |

45L Auxiliary fuel tank, works with a pump mechanism. Unlike on the 110, there is not enough space to put a gravity-feed auxiliary tank in the rear right fender. |

I should know as I buy direct. |

Out of the box: EGT Oil Temp Oil Pressure Coolant Level alarm Coolant Temp they also fitted a transfer box temperature sensor, still trying to figure out how to get the software to display it. All the monitors have alarm levels that you can set manually. For example, the oil pressure is set on a Low Alarm for 1.0 bar, EGT is on a High Alarm at 650C, etc. You can also monitor things like Turbo Boost, Manifold pressure, etc. I am getting these monitored by the ScanGauge since the TDCi already has sensors for these streamed to the ECU. |

So now we have our first issue with the Puma.
When I got back from Barca last weekend, I had the first chance to drive the Puma properly and noticed that it was drifting to the left and also was swerving to the left under braking. When I took it in to LR N1 City for the radio fitment, they did a wheel alignment and according to them it's sorted. However, the braking thing, they will require the car for at least a day to be able to diagnose and fix, so it has to go back in next week *sigh* In the meantime, the wheel alignment has sort of worked: the Puma does not drift so much on a smooth road. But on a bumpy street, it will swerve as soon as one wheel hits a bump/speedbump/etc. Also, as soon as a gust of wind hits, it swerves to the left. Anyone else experience this sort of thing in the Puma? |
