Afternoon all,
Happy chap here, I now have an X-Tech 110 and love it, bought from a forum member http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic19099.html First thoughts?
I do not like the extended seat rails (I think they might be mud ones) as they lift the seat too high, I can't see out of the side window unless I peer under the top of the door I need to find all of the air fresheners and bin them and then see how bad the smell of the previous owner's absolutely beautiful St. Bernard dog is It was immaculate on pick up so thanks Tim for that I had forgotten how s t the standard radio is - I need to get my cheap but very much more cheerful Halfords DAB Bluetooth unit in ASAP The wheels are absolutely fantastic in the flesh It needs rubber mats - do I get Brandan's Nak ones or buy genuine? I am glad the PO put carpets in The tow ball is very high - my caravan won't like it but seeing as it hasn't been out in 18 months I reckon I will only drag is to the dealer to sell it I need to adjust the steering lock stops - I had forgotten how bad a standard Defender's steering lock is - even without spacers adjusting the lock stops makes a huge difference The Goodyear MT/Rs aren't that noisy (may be the sound deadening though) and in fact it's nice to have the hum back - my previous D3 G4 had them and it sounds nice and familiar PO is a very nice bloke and it made me laugh he was pretty open about how he just hasn't got on with a Defender. We met at a train station. His message read "Great, I'll meet you at Wolverhampton station. I'll be in a grey Defender doing a 250 point turn in the carpark...." Craig
I think I've got the original rubber mats in the garage. I'll have a look tonight and confirm back to you. I know I've got the removable drivers mat, cos I took it out to give a bit more clutch travel after the noisekiller kit was fitted. Have today put the order in for the new Rangie. Went for the 4.4 in the end and the St Bernard says she can't wait....!! 2012 Defender X Tech Orkney Grey(now sold, thank God!) 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Orkney Grey 2006 BMW 730d Sport 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Convertible |

They are MUD rails Craig.
Didn't like them myself, but found it more acceptable than sitting on top of the steering wheel! 2012 Defender X Tech Orkney Grey(now sold, thank God!) 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Orkney Grey 2006 BMW 730d Sport 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Convertible |

Oh, and by the way, there are no air fresheners in the car!!
I think it must be that cheap aftershave you Northeners wear..... 2012 Defender X Tech Orkney Grey(now sold, thank God!) 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Orkney Grey 2006 BMW 730d Sport 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Convertible |

The rubber mats would be great if you have them please kind sir. Us northerners don't wear aftershave, it is the smell of whippet racing and working down t'pit. I could tell the V8 RR was coming, very very nice addition to the fleet.
