engine characteristic?
Has anybody been able to resolve the issue regarding the engine revs increasing when changing gear? On my 07 model, it used to increase about 200revs each time I changed gear, but since the ECU has been updated, it only happens when "pressing on" but increases about 1000 revs. I've tried an o8 model and it's exactly the same. Surely this can't be right Shocked

On a minor note, the fuel breather has recently been repositioned, but they've just "tucked it" behind the light shield...loose. Surely this can't be right Shocked

I know there's a few people that have mentioned the engine blip during gear change and I think for me it has got better has the transmission and clutch assmebly has worn in. The gear changes or much smoother despite the engine blip, I think it happens on many cars it just more obvious on the land rover due to its weight and the fact that it can easliy lose momentum during gear change.

cheers Rich...

Mine's the same. It's not so noticeable now but I think that's just because I've sub-consciously altered my driving style to compensate. I tend to back off the throttle just a tad earlier when I change gears. Makes driving my other car a pain now.

Someone here mentioned an update or something for the engine management but when I queried this with my dealer they "looked into it" and said there's no such thing. 2007 Defender 110
