Hi Sweaty,
Best and simplest thing to do is to check with your insurers what their 'spin' is on an A-bar. Ultimately if they'll insure you're onto a winner....Metal ones are the contentious ones..... Below is a quote from a thread from 3 years ago.
Couple of other threads that may be of interest..... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7029.html?highlight=bar http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5424.html?highlight=bar http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic4768.html?highlight=bar If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Thanks K9F, no surprises there actually and your right it probably hinges around the readiness to insure from your agent. Ta Sweaty Sweatysock

Hi
I run a 2005 90 H/T TD5 non A/C which I've also retro fitted a genuine LR soft A bar + spots to... Fully declared my mod at renewal time to Churchill multi car (& even quoted the OE part number to the agent) = no increase in my premium HTH. M. Sounds promising, thanks. If you have time, a cheeky picture of the set up would be appreciated. Cheers, sweaty Sweatysock ------------- 110 CSW TDCI (Puma) 2007 |

thanks for taking the time to post, just the look I want albeit I intend to add the light guards as well. My search for similar parts begin now.
From the limited picture, looks liks a tidy truck there and nice to see the added security thanks again Sweatysock ------------- 110 CSW TDCI (Puma) 2007 |
