Trying to persuade the other half that's it's a nice day out. Been the last two years but last year we went cheap and just went in for the free shopping evening - think it was the Friday night.

We are doing the whole event - camping on site.
Is there much around the venue in terms of pubs, shops etc? 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

At Bramham Park you are a little way out of Bramham village, might be in walking distance but can't remember - but I think there is still a village pub. Nearest big town is Wetherby - which has Morrisons, Sainsburys and M&S Food and loads of pubs. There is also M&S Food at Wetherby Services.
Also close to Tadcaster - smaller shops and lots of pubs - and breweries! Also Boston Spa - large village with convenience store and 'boutiques' (posh!) and pubs. I think there is also a pub at Clifford. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

Been a few times but only for the day usually on the dressage days. I tried to persuade darling daughter to go with me this year but she can't get any time off. Somehow I don't think Brendan will appreciate being dragged along so I might have to give it a miss.
Be warned though there are LOTS of nice horsey things to spend money on. Barbara |

I went as a kid, so a long time ago. I used to do fence judging at Rudding Horse Trials before they stuck the Harrogate By-Pass right through the Cross Country Course! The House was just an empty shell in those days - not the big hotel and restaurant business it is now.
If I wasn't going to be busy getting ready for our hols I'd go with your Barbara! Then again, I might be persuaded as I sprung a big hole in sole of my Rydale country boots and am looking to replace them a pair of Dublin River ones ! Good event, plenty of walking to do (and was done) took over 1100 photos.
Lots of stalls and a good few overpriced food stalls. (£7.50 for fish and chips, £20-25 for a jug of Pimms) Overall a good event. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
