Are the 24 volt mirrors that are for sale on ebay etc, suited to a 12v land rover, ie can they be used with some modification.

May be you can modify the heating element, i.e. like splitting the element in 2 parts (make a isolated part in the middle) and then supply the feed in pararallel. This way you have 12 V over the half of an element, which would have the same effect as 24 V over one whole element. Cheers, Vincent

Half Volts will result in 1/4 of the power not 1/2 the power - might still work but will be far less effective

This way you put the same volts across each half element - which is effective the same as putting double volts across one whole element. ... Or do I miss something? No if you can split the element into two equal sectiona and apply 12v across each half you;ll be back to full power
