Morning Lambley,
Rustybox had some anthracite ZUs for sale a while back and as ZUs are Mach 5 'wannabees' they look more or less the same. Pictures here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic18933.html If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

^^^^ Thanks K9F, I've seen Rust's Zu's, look great but one has a scuff and I thought they were a bit £££, the colour of those looks fine, I was wondering if the Mach 5's are a similar shade? It's difficult to tell from adverts without seeing one, I saw lots of Zu's at the show in Harrogate last weekend but didn't see any Mach 5's. They're going on a black 90.

^^^ looks great but mine might be too much black? Anthracite might break it up a bit, yours is kind of the opposite - grey/black to black/grey if that makes sense?!!

I know they are ZU's (so the color may be a little off - i'm not sure), but I agree the anthracite breaks it up a little
Here's the comparison for you... Click image to enlarge And this (although ZU's...) looks the IMO Click image to enlarge |

No, I have only got my TR90 - It's just a photo I found for you (and a 90 I like the look of ). I believe it is anthracite, and here's an image from the rear:

I have a Stornaway grey 90 with matt black Mach5's which look the dogs danglies, I think you are right though black on black wouldn't look good, on yours the grey on black would look much better. IMHO.

Cheers for the reference
If necessary, I'd be happy to get the wheel refurbed if someone is genuinely interested. The black G4 was my old 90 in the works car park
Ian (IRB) knows a lot about it, now living in IOM with many many many more mods.. "Darth" is its new name I believe! featured in LRM last year.. lots of lights! Just had my new project 90 wheels powder coated in anthracite (black 90 - of course!).. In my personal option black and black is too much err black! and black and silver is a little too the other way... anthracite is middle ground! |
