Binoculars or camera zoom lens?
Im off to the Silverstone F1 next month and would like to get a decent pair of binoculars to take with me, can anyone recommend a decent pair please?

Also, does anyone know what binocular magnification would be best for an event like this? And how would the magnifications compare to my cameras 400mm zoom lens? Would say 16x be equivalent?

If you look around you'll find lots on this but no real answer given the different types of devices but compared to a full frame 35mm lens divide by 50 for a rough comparison ie a 400mm lens will have about the same magnification as a 8x binocular. Field of view will be very different so they will probably not "look" the same...

Don't quote me on any of this as it's just what I've read in the past, I've never compared myself.

I'd stick with binoculars for looking and your camera for taking pictures....
