Genuine land rover Snorkle vs mantec
Are both these the same thing?

Mines a 2010 genuine snorkel, I have read its only for just that, is this correct or is the genuine one different, if not have you had a thread for making it better?

Mantec make the snorkels for Land Rover. They're exactly the same (except for the price Rolling Eyes ). Darren

If you're talking about sealing it to make it watertight then there's a recent on here where somebody detailed how they'd done just that. It's quite involved though, as the rest of the intake system needs quite a lot of work too, IIRC. Darren

i have had both the plastic jobbie snorkels and land rover ones are not quite the same, but only in cosmetic design. The landrover one has a jerry can appearance by the air intake. Personally I prefer the landrover ones but not the price! Hence I now have the Mantec as you can't notice any difference unless they are parked together and then only if you studying them.

The genuine land rover one looks like it has four screws holding it on but these are just dummies.
The top is smaller on a gen one.

On another note I really don't think they are as good as they used to be. I've fitted a few and the last one didn't seem to line up as easy. But this could be land rover not mantec. Don't know why I bothered writing that cause its the land rover.
