Indeed, weirdo's!!! you said it.
Reporting positive things about Puma needs acknowledging otherwise it seems that everyone has problems. Yes, have checked out the Gib 4x4 website. Jlerra 'El Pepe Flamenco' JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |

mine has now gone however your issues sound similar to what I had although I think mine was perhaps more serious, at its worst there would be a loss of power and it would drop into limp mode. one trip to the dealers resulted in a new fuel filter due to low fuel pressure which seemed to make very little difference, they also provided the ECU update software - felt different but not quite sure how. eventually replacing the high pressure pump, fuel injects and TANK CLEANED OUT put things right. I suspect tank fuel of cr*p was the cause of the problems, the car was fitted with the original breather located in the rear wheel arch and probably with the valve / filter thing fitted the wrong way round? the amazing thing was about 100 miles after the filter was replaced the engine ran so sweet (only for about 25miles though) anyway this is all a distant memory now...... I'm saving for another now. |

It took long, verrrryyyyyyyy long but finally....
Went to the dealer, replaced 2 injectors and the car is driving SUPER Also, I relocated my fuel breather pipe to the inside of my car a few weeks ago. Everything looks fine!!! Probably my fuel got contaminated some time ago: replaced fuel pump, common rail and last week, 2 injectors... |

Hi Folks!
I've a similar problem Had my 90HT from new since beginning of December 09 and for the most part love it . But I'm experiencing a very rattly engine, mainly under 2,500rmp. However now and again it runs like a completely different machine - no rattling & very smooth - probably how it should be all the time, but this only lasts for a short time then it's back as bad as ever Have had it checked out by the dealer, they did the latest ECU update. I've told the service dept that I think its fuel related, they seem to agree with that, but these days, without fault codes logged they seem less able to decide what to do. The day they tested it, it was having a better spell and they thought it was OK, but would be happy to look at it again if I felt it wasn't fixed. I don't know whether it was coincidence, but the update is apparently fuel management related and when driving it that evening it drove the best it has ever done...but only for a couple of miles!! Even though they haven't solved the problem yet, I've no complaints about the dealer, but I would like to go armed with some ammo in the way of suggestions from you guys of possible solutions, next time I take it in!! |

Syd,
sounds like you're experiencing exactly what I had. mine actually went into limp mode a couple of times with no MIL light or codes so that doesn't help you or the dealer much. however after I sold mine to a dealer and they know exactly how it should perform were I wasn't as I'd not had one before. turned out not only did it require 2 injectors, hp fuel pump, tank clean etc and then all was well |

Did you solve this, as I have exactly the same problem?
Thanks |

Don't worry Puma. My car sounds exactly like an old diesel (at 1500 rpm).
I'm a slow driver and it happens on the autoroute. If I look on my Nanocom I realize the turbo and the EGR almost out of function (at 1500 rpm). Without EGR and turbo the car is nothing more like an old diesel |
