Looks good Tiger Was it fairly easy to do? I've got CQ on the 90 but its different finishes and because I've got OCD I need it to all be the same. Where did you get it from and what prep did you do before spraying? Cheers Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey. |

A few more bits done:
Fitted Mantec Wheel Carrier Fitted Simbars / Britpart Discovery bike rack. Wanted a super quick way to put a bike rack on and this seemed to answer that. Was hoping that the back door would also still open with it. Bike on back Click image to enlarge Back door open Very pleased. On the furthest in the rear wheel would catch the capping but most of the time max 3 adult bikes so not too worried. (If you had to carry 4 it would still open you'd just have to be careful) Simbars rack does exactly what I need but a bit disappointing with the quality Last edited by Tiger on 23rd Mar 2014 8:28am. Looks good. All you need now is a trailer board Darren

Anything's better than nothing. Drives me mad seeing cars loaded with bikes whilst the lights and plate are obscured. It's not like it's difficult to solve Darren

Steam clean time!
Right so I bought some Southdown jackable sills from MCS http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic19799.html We swapped my sills off and while there he started pushing rather big lumps of mud off the outriggers. I knew it need a good clean underneath and this was the final straw plus without the sills it's easier to see (harder to ignore) the bad stuff. Click image to enlarge The rear tub above the x-member was full of mud. The chassis was about an inch full and took some doing All in 10kg of mud + all of the silt that washed down the drain Looked under today and still more to do but looking much better |

how hard wearing is the spray you used to do your chequer plate? I have some matt black I used on my wing top plastics and the bolts too. but its wearing off fast !
im also looking for jackable sills this would raise the clearance on the sides and give me an all round recovery asset. nice find the one you got . hows it double as a step is it a bit of a reach lol, ? |

Can't see it working as a step. Too shallow and sits mainly under that body.
I painted the Chequer with Acid Etch primer first but in all honesty it's not great. I now avoid using the wing tops as a handy tool rest. I think anodised is the only thing that might last |
