Tyre advice..
Having just bought myself a Series 3 to play with I was wanting to know best tyre size to go for.

At precent it has Mach 5 rims with 235-70 x 16 Cooper Discoverer AST's and TBH it looks a bit naff due to low profile of the tyres.

The SATs were ace tyres!

Don't think you'll find any more these days though. As was said, 7.50 is a nice size, so maybe radials, Michelin XZL's, they don't look too out of place on a series, or some general SAG's, they're good off road. even the copy of the goodyear hi-miler extra grip like the military S3's used to use, think Deestone did a copy of those.

If you want to fill the arches a bit, get some 235/85/16s, there's plenty of MT pattern in that size.

Showing my age, I used to trial an LJ80 with the All Wheel Drive Club on SATS and that truck would go anywhere Mr. Green

In all seriousness, it does depend to a certain extent what you want to do with it and what wheels you want to use. If sticking to the original 5 or 5.5 inch steel rims then it does limit your size choice. However, if you can get some 6.5 inch Wolf wheels or a set of forward control rims, then you're in 235/85 territory, which can look great. Darren

Do series 3s have PSUs? If not tall & narrow, like the 750s would be best. 205 or 225 rather than 235 are easier. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. I'm sticking with the Mach 5 rims and think 235-85x16 Cooper STMAXX or General All Terrains and sell the 235-70 x 16 Cooper Discoverer AST's as they have loads of tread left these will fit a Disco 1 I guess.
