The simple answer is no. Not significantly.
What specific problems are you referring to? Certainly in terms of general fit and finish there is no significant improvement since 2007. Don't know if you are aware that Defenders are now using a new 2.2 4 cylinder diesel, rather than the 2.4 that was fitted to your 2007 model. But again, most of the reports from owners of the new 2.2 on here don't really demonstrate any significant improvement. Maybe a bit quieter, and a bit of a question mark over the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology of the new ones, although no one here has had any specific problems with that as far as I'm aware. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green |

Drop a 'pm' to 'Noworries' he can knock the 60k into a cocked hat the mileage he does.

Mine a 57 plate. Only had a diff pinion oil seal go. (Maybe my fault recovery related) and EGR valve change which had exceeded it's working lifetime anyway...
Other than that only normal maintenance items. Chillin In The Backwoodsπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Well my 07 DC has now done 120,000 miles with only the following:-
1 clutch change 1 front diff failure 1 set rear halfshafts/drive flanges Whilst that is appreciably more parts than my TD5 Disco neede in the same mileage, I don't think it is cause for complaint. |

The first 2.4's had a few 'lemons'. The 2.2 is a totally different set up. it is an older engine than the 2.4, but has alot of people excited by it. The usual Defender traits are still just as bad, Rust etc. Think it would be worth going and having a look and test drive. ![]() |

My 2011 seems very similar to my old 2007 model - no problems with either of them worth worrying about.

Not sure I'm very excited about it ![]() To answer the OP then I would say no, I cannot see any vast improvement between the current offering and the 2007 version. They still leak, require basic rustproofing from the word go, have paintwork that marks at the merest touch of a twig, have powder coating that wants to flake off various bits with regular monotony but also have the added bonus that the ecu wants to control the revs despite driver input and are now burdened with a DPF. FFFFFFFF @#? Ok so 25 yrs and 14 LRs later and a new 2.2 2012 110 XS . I recon I'm pretty qualified to answer that question . Failed clutch , failed turbo hose , failed track rod ends x2 , failed swivel housing oil seals , supplied with no under felt or carpet , failed headlight plug , thinner chassis , panels and allround cheeper poor quality parts . Bumper is in the bin rusted away . 2.2 revving problems to tick the boxes of the EU emitions , paint quality is shocking . Just because it's got 6 gears and a cumfier seat doesn't make it a different car . A gloryfied series 3 if you ask me . If your into Landrovers then you know what your gettin - the worlds most iconic car that everyone wants , with 65yrs of inherent inbuilt problems that will never go away . Gees they've only just gave us a heater with a half deesent blower . I still love it though .

We have an early 110 2007 at work which we have had from new.
Just given it its 24,000 service. Only problem we have had was it got stuck in 1st gear & we removed the gearbox to get it checked out by a gearbox company. I put a clutch in it as the springs were very loose ![]() My 08 110 has just hit 58K with no probs apart from a few leaks one of which I an still chasing ![]() 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility.
