£440 for a 90CSW??? They're having a 'Roman Bath!'
Shop around - the only difference I can see is the ten year guarantee compared to a five year that I got? Then again I paid £180 all in for the same job! Admittedly my sliding windows didn't come out; then again I didn't want them drilled out for them to do it! After five years I could have all mine done again and save £60 to boot should the price remain the same! Have a look at Autoglaze. (I got a 10%discount online!) http://www.autoglaze.co.uk/ Argument may be you get what you pay for but anyone is more than welcome to inspect mine at any time. I'm happy with it! As aforementioned please 'shop around!' Many companies will offer security tints for the price they are charging. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I looked at these guys Diamond Tinting
They're offering security film tinted. I don't know the period of their guarantee but here is their email response to me: "The cost to fit our high performance tinted window film with 99% UV protection in any shade to the rear door windows, rear side windows and rear screens on your 2007 Defender 110 is £195+v.a.t. All our work and films are fully guaranteed against fading, turning purple, peeling, etc of which you get with cheaper films. These films are being used by many companies to keep costs down." I've not used them yet but they seemed to be quite competitive and so long as it doesn't look a complete dog's dinner then I'll be happy (lets face it - no other part of the car has perfect fit and finish). I don't know whether they take the windows out but I'm not sure I want them drilled out either. Undecided at the moment - but this seemed very cheap. BTW: always excited to see someone's on the lookout for a group buy for the forum. Thanks mate One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Discocuzzy, there was definately no reference or accusation that you were 'out on any type of make' at all. Just the simple fact that having had my windows done for considerably less and shopped around before I did so I consider the princely sum of £440 extortionate! With Autoglaze I did indeed have reservations about what the finished result would look like being so cheap - they said if I wasn't happy with the result they would either redo it or I didn't have to pay. I paid as I was happy with it. The only bug bear but hardly noticeable is the 1mm gap round the edge of the sliding windows, then again I didn't want the frames drilled out on a vehicle that was only 5 months old. Could have opened a can of worms from a body corrosion perspective in time to come in my view. Atlantd's post strengthens my belief further. It was just a simple piece of advice to shop around. No offence or reference meant. Happy Days! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

No problem pal, im guess im used getting ripped off in surrey
I spoke to the guy last night and hes happy to look at the price if we get more takers...he wont be able to match the diamond tint price as he has to take the windows out, however he may look at a substantial reduction if we get to 8. TBH im not gonna chase, just trying to sort out a decent price for you guys, if you want to get stuff on tinterweb thats cheaper then thats also cool.
