hi caterham.position update....just north of villach in austria..snowed last night,2 or 3 inches but up to 5 deg,c so melting today Thumbs Up
map sensor you say??i guess that's something to do with a satnav...yes Question don't use one in lr but some of our trucks have got them, have to be careful they try to send me on some funny routes sometimes which is ok in a car but when your 16 metres long...well,you know.
when i get home i must have a look at this bad earth as i want to go to newbury sortout on sunday and more importantly off to france in may for a few days Very Happy
i will update you later.cheers,wurzel.
good luck with the sensor and all the best

wurzel, I may be wrong but I believe the correct name is MAP sensor and is located where the EGR joins the fresh inlet (so no nothing to do with satnav).

have a look. all you need is 7mm spanner. 2 min job so its worth having a look.

Thumbs Up

Don't want to be a spoil sport but a loose earth on a modern electronic car can cause crazy things to happen. On an older car the only thing it will cause is power interruptions. EG switch lights on dim or flickering lights, radio cuts in and out, wipers wont work. The symptoms you describe will be caused by a rub through on a loom when you send power to the lights it makes contact with the wiper feed wire causing it to activate, switching the car on/off makes the engine shake and might temporarily break that connection but it will return. When you swapped the stalk you might have pinched some wiring or not cable tied it perfect. Land Rovers are precision equipment and never fail on their own its normally been abused by someone ( its the only way to keep convincing myself the Loving Relationship is worth putting up with) 2013 Orkney Grey 110 SE on order should be here on 20/04
