Rear seat wont latch
Hi,

My rear 60/40 have a problem

The single seat wont latch up & you can just fold it down. The back rest that is. The base is ok

Think its been like that since I have had it. MOT soon so its got to be sorted

Before I go looking at it, would anybody know if its a simple fix etc

Thanks Chris

Lube the mechanism and make sure the base is properly slammed down before locking the backrest in position.

Helps if you try and push the release back down a ways as sometimes they don't return especially if not lubed. IIRC there is also an allen key grub screw in the mechanism under the plastic trim cover that can work loose and cause the back to lock upright too. Steve.

I just paid the local stealer an hours labour to remove a piece of plastic the size of a 1p coin from the mechanism. Part of the plastic trim had broken off. On the upside all the seats latch like new.

Might be worth popping the cover off if lubricating doesn't do the trick and see if anything is jamming the mechanism..
