I find that its either on cold (which on a hot day is warm) or roasting hot even at the first click from cold - never had it turned around more than that, so would hate to think how hot it actually got on full Also the A/C is average to say the best |

The ac on mine is fine,(much better than previous TD5's ) OK, not anywhere near the standard of the climate on the Sport,, But work well,, It was on permanently whilst doing 2500k round southern Spain/Portugal etc a couple of weeks ago,, But only needed to be on low fan speed and max cold, The heater only gets too hot, when a window is opened at higher cruising speeds etc, which draws the heat from the transmission etc, up through the handbrake/Seatbox,, then it get hot,, to such an extent, than the hand brake lever is quite hot on the leg,,, but then all defenders have done this,, California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

As mentioned my AC is very cold - its so cold that often you can see your breath which has got to be good (dont get that on the disco)
Ver interested in what you say about the heat with the window open - in previous defenders ive never had this (including the v8 which had the closest thing to a working heater - even had bumper heating!) But that could very well be it. Mike |

Are you sure your A/C is working correctly? I have had a recurring problem (see other thread) with mine where the thermal cutout switch was faulty and the core kept icing up. The end result was that it blocked the airflow so I still got fairly cold air, but it was reduced to a trickle. This has been fixed twice on mine and the dealer reported another vehicle with the same problem twice over. ...and yes, I find the heater so hot I'm surprised the dash doesn't melt. Even though it doesn't get that cold here, on our coolest day - just last week actually, I couldn't have it more than 1/4 turn off cold. It also seems to heat up extremely fast from start-up. 2007 Defender 110 1970 Alfa Romeo 1750GTV |

Try it next time, on the motorway, for example, would be interested in your findings,, On mine (the 07, as well as all previous TD5's) as soon as a window is opened, the air flow drags the heat up through the seat box !! Not noticed the heat being dragged up from seatbox but the heater is the best heater I've had in any car. As for the A/C my rear passengers comented yesterday how cold it was in the back of the 90 after I'd had the A/C on for 5 mins.m 110 D250 SE HT
