140bhp?
I know that Topix can be wrong on many occasions, however, I've just realised that my 110 is stated as having a "2.4L DOHC HPCR DSL 140PS PUMA" engine.

I'm guessing this could just be the engine that is provided by Ford and is just listing it's capability before LR dump their map on the ECU. I think in the older Transits, the variable turbo was only an option on the 140bhp version. I'm sure it is on my Transit based Motorhome with the 140bhp 2.2 engine. Craig Rogers

ford supply many transit engines with all different powers and im pretty sure that they dont supply a transit with 122hp but that said i would asume it is down to landrover to have the desired power they want out of it after all said and done look what tuning does to vehicles its only different stage of map simular to stage 1 td5 and then astage 2 td5 just different gains Thumbs Up

1 bhp = 0.74kw if I remember correctly.

I think the standard Transit when they had the 2.4 Puma engine only had 90bhp, there where then various options of which 140bhp was one, the main difference was the introduction of the variable turbo which both 2.4 and 2.2 Puma Defenders have.

This is why I think the engine is probably supplied as the 140bhp variant. Craig Rogers

im 100% certain they only have 122hp from the factory and also the proof is here on the forum BAS has proved on many 2.2 cars that they only have 120ish hp ?

On most of the earlier 2.4 engined variants you'd see something like "90T250" on the front doors... mine had "125T250" for instance.

My understaning is that the first number is the PS (90/125/140 etc) and the second is the bodystyle.. 250 being a MWB/Medium Roof... '09 SVX #200

Its a Ford 140PS spec engine - which means it has the higher flow injectors, the Variable Geometry Turbo with ERA, oil spray jets (for the pistons) and a couple of other features.

The Land Rover calibration is 122bhp (in theory - but you will never see this on a rolling road).
