@SkyFallSilver:
Till the end of the 80s Mercedes was really capable of building cool rides, in newer times they try to prevent this (exept the G Wagons, up to 500, the G55 and G63 have exeptional engines, but the exterior tends more and more to tastelesness for markets like Russia and so on, very blingbling) @:Greeni: Haven't driven one yet, but I would love to do it, especially on the Nürburg-Ring. Very small manufacturer mainly using BMW M3 engines |

The interiors are the best of german cars and better tan bmw which are tasteless. Yes I like the interior design till the late 90's and the g class has the sort of feel when younger into it. I am very blessed in owning a g55. My father has a 560sl and 2 6.9's original owner for 3 of them. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition |

One of the ultimate garage dreams came true, we got a new family car:
1988 R107 560 SL reimportet from the US with app. 40.000 miles on the clock. Worn interior, but the rest in quiet good shape. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Rebuild to european style with 'short' bumpers front and back, square lights, km odometer, completely new interior, new soft top, engine with all parts checked and serviced, new aircon, complete new rust protection and at the end polish of the original paint. Wanted to go on the first test drive, but started to rain cats and dogs just when I wanted to start Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

The leather was too worn with holes in some places, the door cards were unrestorable, but the wooden parts got restored and all broken parts have been exchanged with original MB parts. the dash is still the one the 560 had when it came from the production line. the steering wheel with wood was an option in the 80s which this car didn't have, but it's so great in combination with the wood inlays in the same colour in the dash that we couldn't resist to change that too
