Hi,
We have just booked a 4x4 camper through www.drivesouthafrica.co.za they are basically an agent for all car hire companies I think. We pick up the car from just a few miles from Windhoek international airport, Bobo campers. You could go straight to them but the price is the same but no Defenders. Defenders are quite expensive but essential if your after the full experience You won't go wrong with Safari Drive in the UK to sort out your trip, we used them last year. Steve |

Camelman,
I did this trip a few years ago - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7116.html?highlight=namibia Great country, did everything independently mix of camping and posh lodges. I think i still have my itinerary if that would help? Ian |

Another option is to get a camper-type vehicle - much more practical than a landy with rooftop tent.
Something like these: http://www.helderbergcamperhire.co.za/discovererX.html http://www.bobocampers.com/2.English/discoverer%202.htm -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |
