D3 For Sale and looking for 110 Pictures added

Discovery 3 TDV6 S. Silver Manual

Thinking about selling my D3 and returning to the Defender so would be interested in a good 110 if anyone thinking of going the other way.

The D3 is a base spec but has loads of extras on it from new and I am the second owner. Originally registered on 23/12/2004.

Has it had the big service with belts changed ?

Not yet, I had it serviced last week by MID Engineering at Wantage and they suggested doing it nearer to the 105k mark.

It had a 90k service and new track rod ends as well as 4 wheel alignment so is in tip top order for the next few thousand miles.

Just checked on the d3 site , its 105k or seven years so belts are well overdue, expensive fix if it snaps .

Just checked my paperwork and it looks from the PDI sheet that I got with the car that the belts were changed when I bought it along with the front suspension wishbone.

I just booked the wife's D3 for the 105k/7yrs service, Stratstone Cheltenham £667, not bad I thought, I've seen some frightening quotes on other sites

My local mechanics (ex LR service technicians) recommended it be done by Land Rover as the potential dangers of doing it wrong could be very expensive. Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!

Can you advise when the belts were changed please, how long ago and at what milage?

And any suspension issues ?

Belts changed 24/7/12 @ 88K

I had one suspension issue with an orange light that came on and the suspension lowered.

Switched off and switched on again and it cleared so I replaced the brake light swiitch and all seem seems OK. (Fairly common fault I understand but at least the new switch is only £16)

This only happened a few days ago so I will take it into my dealers to make sure ever thing is as it should be.
