My 110DC so far (10,000miles)
After owning my Defender for 8 months and just smashing past 10,000 miles I thought I would just point out the ups and dows of owning her.

From the begining the 110 was a bit of a nightmare......or should I say Land Rover export sales were the nightmare and after many heated phone calls I was given £1,000 compensation for changing the colour of my new car without informing myself about it. From the moment I got to the delership though I fell in love with the car....the colour was beautifull and all the other features of the car were fine.

Withing the first 2,000 miles the MIL light was coming on whenever I tried to use A/C or heated screen etc, but after a tip to LR they fund out that the numberplate light was shorting out (Due to the light guard fitted by LR Export sals) and after a hour she was back out and working fine again Very Happy

At 6,000 Miles I took her into Lad Rover Ripon for a mini service including an oil change where se came ou wth a clean bill of health and they upgraded the software whilst it was in there.

Now on 10,000 miles she is still driving like a dream with no problms despite several off-roading trips around England, Wales and Scotland and traveling through France, Belgium, Holand and Germay. All in all she has cost me £24,000 which includes all the add-ons such as winch, full underbody protection, wheels and tyres.

All in all she has been hassle free, and needed less work than any other carI have owned.

Glyn

Yep, the rock in the lakes that liked to scrape axles- had me a bit worried when I was still moving forward with the tyre off the ground, a bit like a hover car!

You may well get the chance to play with some other spectacular hardware during your Landy's 6month sabbattical. Alternatively as a 'Southerner' I could always source a chequered shirt a cowboy hat and some shades and keep it ticking over for you!

Laughing If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!
